It can feel awful when your most important relationship is not working. For some, they feel like they cannot even talk without a fight. It is easy to feel bad about yourself when things are not going right in your relationship. Nothing feels right or good.

I had many friends in the past who talked to me about their troubles, especially the heartache they felt in their marriages. I felt helpless and did not know what to say. They told me they felt they should not be talking to me or other friends about their troubles because they were afraid of wearing out their welcome. They expressed feeling the advice they sometimes got from friends was more detrimental than helpful, but they did not know where else to turn. In addition, things were not always perfect in my home either, so I resonated with their feelings.

Some of my friends chose to go counseling. They found relief. Soon they developed new communication skills and learned how to have meaningful and intimate relationships. First thing they knew, they were once again talking to each other and having fun together in their marriage.

Out of this desire to help my friends and the zeal to hear their stories, I began to look into what I could do to make a difference. It led me to the place I am today--a licensed marriage and family counselor. I love the work I do--helping others have the opportunity to go from being sad, scared, lonely and perhaps overwhelmed to getting what they really want in life fulfilling relationships, especially with those they love the most. It is not about a paycheck for me, but about the opportunity to help others in their journey towards renewed and vibrant relationships.

It is a big step to reach out for help. Many individuals express feelings of apprehension about attending couples therapy. I provide counseling within a caring, safe, supportive environment that lends itself to you getting the help you need. I believe you will find me easy to talk to.

I would love to hear your story, about what is going on in your life right now, so
please call me at 408.644.3294.  I hope to speak with you soon. What I do know, also statistics bear out, is that fulfilling relationships help one feel stronger, more confident, and happier. - Jean
